Math 16:16

At a time when Jesus went about doing good, He found it necessary, not only to warn His disciples of the leaven of the pharisees, but also to ascertain their level of conviction concerning His real identity…….who do people say that the son of man is? Math 16:13.
It was not surprising to see the emptiness in them, as they mumbled what they have either heard people say or even themselves thinks about a saviour who have been doing Mighty works in their midst. Partly out of ignorance some of them failed to recall the prophesies concerning Jesus, His coming and the signs, miraculous works that was to accompany His sojourn on earth. Then Peter echoed His conviction through the revelation of the Holy spirit …thou art Christ, the son of the Living God. Math 16:16

Have you ever paused to wonder how it feels like bearing the name of Christ Himself, in your works, words, attitude, and comportment? How proud you have worked to fulfill the will of the Father through the obedience of His words? How consistent you have been in the work of the kingdom, “….both in season and out of season”? Jesus went about doing good, He insisted on the need to do the will of the Father whilst its still day. He worked so zealously hard in confirmation of the Father’s will and desire in Him

But who do people think you really are? Have you asked yourself, who the people around you, your neighbours, the Christain fold, business partners, office colleagues, etc think you are? For the mark of Christ we bear in our bodies if truly we do, must reflect our true identity.
The Apostle Paul admonished the brethren in Corinth to examine themselves to ascertain if they are still in the Lord, lest they fall…its possible to work so hard and at the end loose your crown, when we fail to watch ourselves. Our obligations to a righteous God might be affected by little issues when we decided to overlook our attitude towards those sorrounding us, the same people for whom Christ died for, same people we are expected to show a life of Christ.

Who do people say you are?
Have you this hidden attitude that you think no one else knows? Do you know that that we are an epistle before all men, written as we live daily? What will the church say about you if you are presented? Remember every single action we take is laid bare before the throne of Grace. We are also surrounded by crowd of witnesses, whose hearts are full of questions each time we are found wanting in our claims as christains.
Acts 1:1-3..In The former account [which I prepared], O Theophilus, I made [a continuous report] dealing with all the things which Jesus began to do and to teach [Luke 1:1-4.] [2]Until the day when He ascended, after He through the Holy Spirit had instructed and commanded the apostles (special messengers) whom He had chosen.
[3]To them also He showed Himself alive after His passion (His suffering in the garden and on the cross) by [a series of] many convincing demonstrations [unquestionable evidences and infallible proofs], appearing to them during forty days and talking [to them] about the things of the kingdom of God.

The convincing proof Peter needed to give an answer to this question was the fact that Jesus …began to DO before even TEACHING, His works was a clear demonstration of who He was …the son of God. Peter through the inspiration of the Holy spirit, whose manifestion is shown in love, long suffering, kindness, etc Gal 5: 22, knew that only the One who has the authority and resemblance of the Father could do all those things, show these magnitude of wisdom in teaching. He was convinced that Jesus is the son of God, and I am also convinced that you are also son of God, for the scripture can not lie. But my fear is if you can be found worthy to be identified with Christ when you are presented.
Therefore choose Yea today whom you want people to think you are, a member of the Lord’s Church, a Christain, a child of God, a servant, a labourer a royal priesthood, a kind and compassionate neighbour in a world filled with hatred. Its a hard choice with abundant blessings!
